Building sustainability

Vision and mission of the World Goetheanum Association

Preamble

The World Goetheanum Association (WGA) is a global network of economic, social and cultural organizations working for a just, sustainable and spiritually conscious society – a society in which all persons can fulfil their potentials and where the earth can thrive and bring forth its wonders. While our charter unites us internally, the vision and mission presented here give us the focus for our collective action externally in the world.

The focus of our mission is the commitment to the implementation and promotion of a tripartite social order: a spiritual-cultural life in freedom, a juridical life in equality, and an economic life in solidarity, oriented towards the common good. These three areas are different in nature and independent in their action, but are nevertheless interdependent, and guarantee a unity. We recognize the profound influence of cosmic and spiritual forces on human life and on the earth, and try to integrate them into our work.

The Goetheanum as a cosmopolitan world school is the inspiring force for the WGA, as well as its short denomination. One of the WGA's tasks is to raise the awareness of, and promote, the anthroposophical world movement and its contributions to the challenges of our time.

Following its common goals, the WGA brings together enterprises, organizations and initiatives with similar aspirations. The association was founded in 2016 as a unifying body of the anthroposophical world movement and its activities promote partnerships worldwide.
