New partner: Bingenheimer Saatgut AG - Seed-resistant varieties for a sustainable future.

06/30/2025 |   Aktuell
Bingenheimer Saatgut AG is a pioneering company in the field of organic seeds. With its roots firmly planted in biodynamic agriculture, the company's clear goal is to strengthen independent organic farming by providing seed-resistant varieties.

Its history began in 1985 with the 'Initiative Group for Biodynamic Vegetable Seeds'. At a time when hybrid varieties were increasingly dominating the market, a group of committed Demeter gardeners came together to preserve and organically propagate seed varieties, making them available to all interested parties.

Bingenheimer Saatgut AG was founded as an independent venture in 2001. Its main tasks are coordinating seed propagation, preparing, testing and distributing organic seeds to commercial and hobby gardeners, and to the organic food trade. The range includes over 500 varieties of resistant vegetables, herbs and flowers, including over 120 new biodynamic varieties.

Bingenheimer Saatgut AG views seeds as a cultural asset and seed propagation as a social responsibility. The company deliberately avoids genetic engineering, patents and biotechnological processes, instead focusing on field breeding. Alongside its approximately 90 propagation companies, breeders from Kultursaat e.V. and Saat:gut e.V., shareholders and customers, Bingenheimer Saatgut AG forms a partnership-based network characterised by close collaboration, professional development and fair cooperation. The result is a clear alternative to the globalised seed industry, aiming to safeguard and promote variety diversity, food sovereignty, and sustainable, organic agriculture.

Over many years of biodynamic farming, close ties have been established with the Goetheanum and the World Goetheanum Association. We would like to consolidate and further develop this relationship through our membership.
