For 40 years, the Gemeinnützige Treuhandstelle Hamburg, or GTS Hamburg for short, has been supporting selected initiatives in northern Germany that exemplify human co-operation and strengthen cohesion in society. We also organise our own projects, such as our ‘Future-oriented Business’ event, to which we cordially invite pupils from the 11th to 13th grades of Hamburg Waldorf schools once a year.
In recent years, around 250 pupils have come together to exchange ideas with people who are actively shaping the future in their professions and initiatives. In workshops and on stage, insights were shared into ventures such as Alfred Rexroth, Hans Stockmar, Heyho Müsli, Teikei Coffee and Wildplastic. We also addressed topics from business and politics, such as political participation opportunities in collaboration with MehrDemokratie, the economy for the common good with the support of Daniel Bartel and ownership in collaboration with the PurposeStiftung. We were also able to provide space and a stage for student concerns such as career orientation, climate anxiety, financial education and ‘happiness as a school subject’ at the event. The personal exchange with the lecturers and with each other is of particular importance to the students.
The motto of our next event on 29 and 30 September 2025 in Hamburg is ‘Labour or Life!’. As in previous years, the programme is currently being developed in close cooperation with students from a preparatory group.
We would be delighted if you would like to take part in our event with your venture or initiative!
